Coordinated Program in Dietetics

Mission Statement:

The CP in Dietetics at the University of Missouri-Columbia is the only coordinated program in Missouri and is among the oldest accredited coordinated programs in the United States. Building on such deep tradition, the program strives to provide the highest quality educational experiences in the classroom and supervised practice settings. The curriculum offers knowledge, skills and competencies required to prepare students for the national Registration Examination for Dietitians. The learning environment is structured to promote an appreciation for life-long learning, purposeful self-reflection, effective problem solving and teamwork. Fostered through communication of nutrition information to the citizens of the state and beyond, this program underscores the desire to better the lives of people.

While emphasizing nutrition therapy, the program aspires to achieve distinction in applied research training. This focus is compatible with resources unique to a program housed within a world-class research institution. Opportunities reflect the increased complexity of nutrition care and the diversity of dietetic practice.
